Controls

The safety valves and fusible plugs are used to protect the refrigeration system from any damage due to over pressure. Based on their design, they are classified as follows

• Safety Valve

They are standard type, unbalanced, direct-loaded safety valves. Valve opening is produced by the thrust the fluid under pressure exerts on the disc, when said thrust exceeds, under setting conditions, the opposing force of the spring acting on the disc.

• Bursting Disc

Busting disc is a non-reclosing pressure relief device where the bursting disc is sensitive to a positive differential pressure between upstream and downstream and it is designed to burst at a specified pressure.

• Fusible Plug

Fusible plug is a device containing material that melts at a predetermined temperature and thereby relieving the pressure.
